Photographer Alfred Wertheimer on Elvis in Richmond

Back in March, I posted about Elvis’ concert appearances in Richmond, Virginia, including his June 30, 1956, appearance at the Mosque (now known as the Landmark Theater).

Today, the Richmond Times-Dispatch newspaper has a full-page story about Alfred Wertheimer’s photographic coverage of Elvis from that day both on and off stage. Check it out here:

From Outer Space to Graceland: Collect all 500!

I’m taking this weekend off from The Mystery Train due to the Memorial Day holiday, so I’m going to point you over to my other little corner of the universe.

The Film Frontier pop culture blog just hit post #500. To celebrate, I put together a “very special” post that looks back on the previous 499 installments, including several related to Elvis.

Never fear, I’ll return to The Mystery Train next week with an all-new post!
