How fair is this!? ALL of these are among his best. All have something notable about them. Almost all of them are easily defended. Trying to convince someone King movies are good? Make them watch three of these four – and the fourth is one of my favourites.
[In praise of Follow that Dream...] Elvis shows his acting ability with ease in this role….notable, his stint in front of the judge….he is no longer Elvis, he is Toby Kwimper…(I am sure Elvis loved that moniker) No wonder, he shines with comedic talent, throughout the movie! Also, his innate vulnerability is communicated without effort on his part. I loved Elvis in this movie!
Elvis’ acting promise was shown brilliantly in King Creole, especially notable because it was essentially a musical vehicle !
Well, King Creole may be the better one. But I like Follow That Dream more. It is such a funny well done movie and El is great! The cast is top. Like all main players in this film.
It’s a hard one to choose! Follow that Dream, Wild in the Country, Flaming Star…Ahhh! I picked King Creole, but as Wellsy said they all have something notable about them, great acting none the less;)
The poll is now closed. My thanks to everyone who voted and/or commented.
And the winner . . . will be announced next month!
